Acidity or acid reflux is very common in Indians. It occurs when secretion of acids in gastric glands is more than usual. It causes acid flowing back to food pipe producing stomach ache, gas & other symptoms. This condition mostly occurs because of an unhealthy eating, heavy meal or spicy foods.

2. Buttermilk-

It contains lactic acid that normalizes acidity in the stomach. Healthy & refreshing drink soothes your stomach & reduces irritation. Drink chilled buttermilk with added black pepper, coriander for the taste several times after a meal.

3. Apple cider vinegar-
Acid reflux is when acid flows upwards from the stomach. Apple cider vinegar is an effective, natural cure for acid reflux. Always mix the vinegar into a glass of water and then consume, direct consumption can make your heartburn worse. It can also increase burning & irritation sensations.

4. Cold milk-
The other best, effective & common remedy to reduce acidity is having a glass of cold milk. The irritation, inflammation, heartburn can be neutralized by drinking cold milk. Milk absorbs the acid formation in the stomach, stops the burning sensation & prevents acid buildup in the stomach. Have a glass of cold milk without any additive.

5. Jaggery-
Have you ever wondered why our elders always finish their meal with gur? Jaggery (gur) is derived from raw sugarcane juice by boiling it till it gets solidified. It helps to improve your digestive process, as it stimulates digestive enzymes that speeds up the digestion procedure & reduces stomach acidity. The burning, inflammation in the stomach can also be maintained with the help of gur. Have a small pieced of gur after every meal to receive the benefits.
